SHRIMP NEW ORLEANS

Ingredients:

  • ½  c. green pepper, chopped
  • ½  c. onion, chopped
  • 2 T. butter
  • 3 c. cleaned, cooked or canned shrimp
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • 2 c. cooked rice
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  • ¾  c. light cream
  • ¼  c. cooking sherry
  • ¾  top. salt
  • ¼   top. nutmeg
  • ¼  c. toasted slivered almonds

Directions:

Cook green pepper and onion in butter until tender, but not brown. Stir In remaining ingredients except almonds. Pour into 2 quart casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly. Top with almonds.  Yield: 6-8 servings.
